We are pleased to announce that our Study Director, Li Zhan, MD, PhD, DABT, has been elected to serve on the American Association of Chinese in Toxicology (AACT) board for a two-year term as an AACT councilor. As a board member, Dr. Zhan will support the special interest group’s mission and objectives as well as SNBL USA’s commitment to diversity in research. In his new role, Dr. Zhan will have the opportunity to collaborate with other scientists in the United States and abroad. He brings extensive expertise in toxicology to the association and exemplary leadership.
In 2011, Dr. Zhan won the best abstract award for his work entitled “Recovery of Cytochrome C Oxidase Activity is Required for Dietary Copper Supplementation-Induced Regression of Cardiac Hypertrophy in Mice.” He also received recognition for the Best Postdoctoral Poster Presentation at the 50th SOT Annual Meeting. In addition to serving on the AACT board, Dr. Zhan is an active member of the Society of Toxicology (SOT) and Drug Discovery Toxicology Specialty Section of SOT (DDTSS).
